Santiago Orozco Casas received his Masters in Political Science from San Diego State University. He specializes in the overlap between political theory and modern drug conflicts, characterized best by his research on the interaction between the state and drug trafficking organizations in contemporary Mexico. With his work he hopes to analyze and explain why repeated efforts by various states to "tackle" these organizations continue to fail, and what the way forward is.
